Arquà Petrarca is a town and municipality (comune) in northeastern Italy, in the Veneto region, in the province of Padua. As of 2007 the estimated population of Arquà Petrarca was 1,835.
Petrarch's tomb in Arquà Petrarca.It is the place where the poet Petrarch (Francesco Petrarca) lived the final part of his life and died, whence the town's name. Francesco Petrarca died and was buried here in 1374 CE.
In 2004, celebrations were held there and in nearby Padua for the 700th anniversary of the poet's birth.
